I have a very hard time believing that LLMs will code something fundamental like `yacc` more efficiently than the craftsmen who first put it together. I think we'll have the software equivalent of vast, soulless and marginally efficient glass & steel towers. Sure the Lever Building was a marvel, but eventually people will want pre-war architecture.
The foundations and structure of the buildings will be for sure very samey (all fastapi, flask etc) but they fundamentally need to do similar things.
The facades actually may become less react samey because LLMs don’t seem to need it or necessarily favour it. Builders who are creative can build whatever they design on paper or figma.
Yes true technical marvels that are like pieces of art too will still need artisans.
